Lamborghini

This was adapted from a black & white photograph of Twiggy sitting in my Lamborghini. I was able to run the beast straight into my studio, which was very convenient for the photograph. I’d recently returned from Italy where I had been ‘measured’ for the Muira S. I had it painted in an acid apple green colour. A few years ago it sold in auction and had been restored to the cost of £120,000! The catalogue described it as the ultimate sixties playboy toy in that special pistachio green. Silly tarts, it was ‘acid apple green’. Anyway, that’s the colour I had asked Mr Lamborghini to paint it.

Incidentally, I hold the World speed record for Bond Street in that magnificent automobile. 120 miles an hour on a Thursday afternoon, with Michael Fish (the legendary shirtmaker) as a passenger. Only his laundry will know how he felt about that ride!
